Coast Guard Capt. Benes Aldana, Staff Judge Advocate for Coast Guard District Eight, was awarded the Daniel K. Inouye Trailblazer Award by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Nov. 6, 2015. Aldana is believed to be the first Asian Pacific American to be appointed as a military trial judge and as an appellate judge for the U.S. military.
