Lt. Gen. Michael G. Dana observes Naval Facility White Beach piers from a UH-1Y Huey helicopter during an air tour Nov. 5 on Okinawa, Japan. Marines use the facility in order to board amphibious shipping to deploy throughout the region. The air tour also allowed Dana to view other strategic access points on Okinawa, as well as the strategic resources and high readiness of Marine Corps Installations Pacific camps and facilities in daily support of operations across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The visit also drew attention to the importance of financial and manpower resources within MCIPAC. Dana is the deputy commandant for installations and logistics.
