Djibouti's Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim inspects the troops of the multi-national, Eastern Africa Standby Force Field Training Exercise which begins Nov. 29, with an opening ceremony in Djibouti. This ceremony is part of a United Nations-supported exercise for the countries representing the Eastern Africa Brigade Coordination Mechanism, and includes four days of training and a final day for a closing ceremony. Ten East African nations participated in the multi-dimensional EASF FTX. The Eastern Africa Standby Brigade Coordination Mechanism Exercise Amani Carana is based on a hypothetical African State that has slid into crisis and depicted as a failed state with complex problems where humanitarian crisis develops that leads to grave human suffering.
