The Descendants of the Red Arrow, members of the Ho-Chunk Nation, prepare to hoist U.S. flags presented to Ho-Chunk veterans during the 38th annual Veterans Day Pow-wow at Volk Field, Wis., Nov. 7. The cultural celebration began to honor the 28 members of the Ho-Chunk nation who served with Company D, 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division, during World War I. Over the years, the annual pow-wow has honored Ho-Chunk veterans of all major U.S. conflicts since World War I. (Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs photo by Vaughn R. Larson)
