U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class John Maze, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) honor guard detail NCO in charge, and U.S. Navy Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Armando Velez, DPAA honor guard detail member, honor the fallen during a dignified transfer for unknown service members Nov. 9, 2015, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu. The dignified transfer marked the final disinterment for those who lost their lives aboard the USS Oklahoma during Imperial Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941. The remains will be transferred to the DPAA where experts will begin an identifying process to help provide closure for family members of the fallen. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
