Australian and Papua New Guinean soldiers prepare wild bananas and freshwater prawns on a homemade fire on the Kokoda Trail, Sept. 28 during a two-day hike on the trail to bond and pay remembrance to the fallen service members during WWII. The trail was the epicenter of battles in Papua New Guinea during WWII when the Japanese Empire attempted to invade Papua New Guinea. The Australian soldiers are with 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment, Royal Australian Army. The Papua New Guinean soldiers are with 1st Royal Pacific Island Regiment, Papua New Guinean Defence Force.
