BUSAN, Republic of Korea (Jan. 13, 2016) Local contractors installed the Cheonan Memorial at the new headquarters for Commander, Naval Forces Korea. The memorial is in honor of the 46 Sailors who died when the Republic of Korea Navy Pohan-class corvette was sunk in 2010 by a North Korean torpedo. CNFK recently shifted its headquarters from Seoul to Busan as part of the greater Yongsan Relocation Program and is the only Navy headquarters located on a ROK Navy base.
