Staff Sgt. Donavan Smith (far left) - a Taylorsville, Miss., native and non-commissioned officer in charge of maintenance with A Company, 106th Brigade Support Battalion, headquartered in Magee, Miss., and attached to 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms, out of Senatobia, Miss. - stands beside Lt. Col. Kerry Goodman, commander of 2/198th CAB and a Quitman, Miss., native residing in Meridian, Miss., during an award ceremony in the A Company motor pool, Dec. 11. Goodman awarded Smith an Army Achievement Medal for outstanding actions during a convoy escort mission. For the same actions, Smith was chosen Task Force Marne Hero of the North on Dec. 20, for which he received a letter of recognition from Brig. Gen. Patrick J. Donahue, II, Deputy Commanding General of the 3rd Infantry Division Dec. 30.
