Recruits of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, crawl under barbed wire during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 29. The recruits were instructed to keep the barbed wire away from their faces. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 22.
