Lance Cpl. Jesus Mendiola calibrates his rifle combat optic after assessing the impacts on his target from the first few rounds he fired on a range at Camp Pendleton, Jan. 20, 2016. A Combat Marksmanship Program was offered to the Marines of 1st Law Enforcement Battalion in preparation for the upcoming deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. With the help of his leadership, Mendiola and his fellow Marines were able to improve skills in weapons handling and transitioning from their M-16 A4 Service Rifle to their M-9 Beretta.
