An Iraqi assault element with the 72nd Iraqi Army Brigade stack up against a building during a combined arms breach training exercise (CABEX) at Besmaya Range Complex, Iraq, Jan. 24, 2016. One of the primary objectives of the CABEX was to validate that elements on the battlefield could work together to achieve their mission. Once Iraqi engineers breached the obstacles around the perimeter, the assault element was able to move closer to their objective. The Besmaya Range Complex is one of four Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve building partner capacity locations dedicated to training Iraqi Security Forces.This training is part of the overall Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve building partner capacity mission to increase the military capacity of Iraqi Security Forces fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
