Spc. Daniel S. Moore (left), a gunner from Horn Lake, Miss., Sgt. James J. Hamblin (middle), a machine gunner from Tupelo, Miss., and Spc. Lorence K. Strange, a gun truck driver from New Albany, Miss., wrote letters to third-graders with Cheryl Hays' Discovery class at Mooreville Elementary School, Mooreville, Miss., who sent "Flat Stanley," a paper doll, along with cards and letters.
