Capt. Christopher Caldwell, the company commander with Charlie Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, scans his Marines' positions as they prepare for an assault on the airfield at Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 12, 2016. Marines and sailors with the 31st MEU flew from the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) to Ie Shima for a vertical assault as part of amphibious integration training with the Navy ships of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group.
