The Medium Mine Protected Vehicle (MMPV) Type II, is put through its paces by Soldiers of the 510th Clearance Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade. The MMPV Type II platform provides a blast-protected platform to protect Soldiers conducting explosive hazard missions to assure the mobility of the force at the tactical through strategic level. Tests conducted on the system by route clearance platoons are done in a realistic environment to make sure systems under test are effective in a Soldier’s hands and suitable for the environments in which they train and fight. Test units and players influence the future by offering feedback to the U.S. Army Operational Test Command to improve upon existing and future systems. Soldiers and test units have the ability to impact development of systems by training, while executing doctrinally-realistic missions, and then providing direct input to the combat developer of the system for future material release decisions.
