    USS Chosin departs Hawaii

160325-N-YW024-068 PEARL HARBOR (March 25, 2016) Sailors remove mooring lines in preparation for the departure of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chosin (CG 65) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Chosin departs Pearl Harbor to begin the cruiser modernization program in San Diego, its new homeport. This move supports the Navy's plan to modernize select cruisers to extend their service lives to 40 years, as well as upgrade shipboard combat systems to address current and future warfighting requirements.
