160325-N-YW024-114 PEARL HARBOR (March 25, 2016) The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chosin (CG 65) departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam to begin the cruiser modernization program in San Diego, its new homeport. This move supports the Navy's plan to modernize select cruisers to extend their service lives to 40 years, as well as upgrade shipboard combat systems to address current and future warfighting requirements.
