Beau Messer, from Royal Oak, Mich., a crew chief in Company B, 615th Aviation Support Battalion,1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, U.S. Division-Center, sits in the front seat of an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter shortly before flying in the aircraft for the first time Jan. 25. Messer was selected for the incentive as part of a program that allows Apache crew chiefs to fly in the aircraft for outstanding performance in their careers.
