Soldiers of the 399th Combat Support Hospital, 804th Medical Brigade, 3d Medical Command (Deployment Support) out of Fort Devens, Massachusetts, conduct an exercise April 2, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center in Rochester, Minnesota. The purpose of the exercise was to practice the Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety, or TeamSTEPPS, which is a Department of Defense framework to optimize military medical care. During the exercise, observer-controller/trainers used state-of-the-art equipment at the facility to monitor the unit's performance. The equipment gave the OC/Ts a bird's eye view of the Soldiers as they worked and also allowed them to manipulate the scenarios by remotely changing patient vital signs.
