Capt. Drew Clark, a company commander from Madison, Miss., and 1st Sgt. John L. Beasely, a company senior noncommissioned officer from Hernando, Miss., chat while drinking chai tea at the home of a farmer who grows wheat and raises sheep near Al Qayarrah, during a security escort mission to the Tigris River pump house that supplies water to Q-West, Feb. 5. Both men lead A Company, 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms, 155th Brigade Combat Team, out of Hernando, Miss., the Q-West force protection company. Members of the unit recently solicited from home gifts of clothing, linen, toys, school supplies and other items to give the farmer and his family, whom they befriended during their many visits to the pump house.
