Air Force Reserve members load cargo onto a C-17 Globemaster during the annual Patriot Hook domestic-response exercise April 21 at Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) Los Alamitos, where the Globemaster shared the airfield with UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the Army Reserve. JFTB, which is a California National Guard installation, is instituting a bird-avoidance program to ensure the airfield is safe for all of its federal, state and local partners.
