Soldiers from Multinational Battle Group-East perform shuttle sprints during the fitness test portion of the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge competition March 31, on Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Unlike typical shuttle sprints the Soldiers had to begin each sprint by laying on their stomach and touching their hands together behind their back. During the event each Soldier was timed and awarded points for their efforts. At the end of the German fitness test the points from the run were added to the scores from two other events: 1000-meter run and a pull-up bar hang. To earn the coveted badge, the Soldiers must complete a 100-meter swim in uniform, a German physical fitness test, weapons qualification, and a timed road march. (U.S. Army photos by: Staff Sgt.
