160511-N-BB534-554 San Diego (May 11, 2016) - The crew of USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) man the rails as the ship pulls out of its homeport for Pacific Partnership. Pacific Partnership is in its 11th year and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific. This year’s mission will be led by Commander, Destroyer Squadron 23, embarked on the hospital ship Mercy, and will include more than 600 military and civilian personnel from the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
