Sgt. 1st Class Brett Meredith (center) inspects the rigging used to secure specialized rigging to a sling point on a U.S. Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter that crashed March 3, approximately 50 miles east of Salt Lake City. The Colorado National Guard successfully recovered the boom and the 15,700 pound fuselage in a daring three-hour high-altitude salvage operation using a CH-47 Chinook helicopter and a specialized 150-foot long remote controlled cable.
