The Belgian navy command and logistical support ship BNS Godetia leaves Cotonou, Benin following five days of at sea and inport training with African partners as part of the European-led portion of Africa Partnership Station West initiative. The Godetia is escorted out of the harbor by two Defender class response boats, donated to the Benin Navy during a previous APS mission three months earlier. APS is an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Africa to improve maritime safety and security with African partner countries. Godetia is homeported in Zeebrugge, Belgium, and is on a scheduled deployment.
