Former 1st Lt. William Knapp and 82nd Airborne Division D-Day veteran, stands from his wheel chair to salute a painting of Lt. Gen. James Gavin during the unveiling of the portrait at the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France. The portrait, commissioned by Line and Chloe Gavin, and painted by James Crowley represented their father at his best, with a rifle in one hand and helmet in another as he watched over his beloved Paratroopers. The painting was donated to the Airborne Museum as part of the D-Day 72 commemorations. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. Joe Bush)
