Washington Army National Guard Pfc. Dezeirai Lewis, a logistics specialist with the 56th Information Operations Group, and Sgt. Cassandra Callender, a flight medic with Detachment 2, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion (General Support), 168th Aviation Regiment, deliver simulated medical supplies out of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to U.S. Navy personnel at Paine Field on June 9 as part of Exercise Cascadia Rising. The aviation capabilities of the Washington Army National Guard can provide a vital link to areas made inaccessible by natural disaster, and this mission tested the interoperability of the Washington Army National Guard, local civil authorities, and other military branches following a natural disaster.
