FOB KALSU, Iraq – Capt. Rick Childers, a civil engineer assigned to the 62nd Engineer Battalion, 16th Engineer Brigade, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, a native of Port St. Luce, Fla., lends a hand to 6th Iraqi Army Division engineer officers as they learn to verify grade at a construction site during the Engineer Officer Shadow Program conducted here June 17-23. The shadow program was created to give IA engineer officers more hands-on experience with U.S. Army vertical and horizontal construction methods, construction management techniques, and also to allow them to gain experience working side-by-side with their American engineer officers peers.
