FORT FISHER, N.C. — North Carolina Army National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. John Cole (left), of the 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, receives the brigade colors (flag) from Col. Timothy Aiken, the incoming commander, during an assumption of command ceremony at Fort Fisher Training Center, June 12, 2016. The colors were passed from Cole to Brig. Gen. Kenneth Beard (Back, right), the assistant adjutant general-sustainment, and then to Aiken, who accepts responsibility of the command by taking the colors. Cole welcomed Aiken into the fold as he grasped the colors before returning it to the color guard.
