FORT HOOD, Texas-- Staff Sgt. Nathan Carter, middle, a crew chief with the National Guard's 77th Combat Aviation Brigade headquartered in Arkansas, is submerged in water during water survival training at Fort Hood June 17. The training is designed to teach air crews not to panic, to relax, and to trust their gear in the event of an actual water landing. The 77th is training at Fort Hood for an upcoming deployment in support of contingency operations.
