African Partnership Station West Commander Capt. Cindy Thebaud speaks to Petty Officer 2nd Class (SCW) Brinton Heisserer, steelworker, from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7 during a tour of the Senegalese zone-7 military base. The base is currently under renovation by NMCB 7 as part of the Africa Partnership Station West 2010 initiative. APS is an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa, which aims to work cooperatively with U.S. and international partners to improve maritime safety and security in West and Central Africa.
