African Partnership Station West Commander Capt. Cindy Thebaud gives certificate of completion to Senegalese navy Lt. Michel Diouf during a graduation ceremony held on the flight deck of the Whidbey Island class amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall as part of the Africa Partnership Station West. More than 90 African sailors from Cape Verde, The Gambia, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo graduated for the successful completion of 16 days of at-sea and in-port training in maritime safety and security aboard Gunston Hall. USS Gunston Gunston Hall is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa in support of APS West, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe - Africa that aims to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
