A recruit from Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, conducts a bayonet technique during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program class at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, July 13. One of the purposes of MCMAP is to teach recruits offensive and defensive techniques, which gives them an opportunity to master the movies in preparation for the MCMAP test later in training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 23.
