160812-N-NF288-108 YOKOSUKA, Japan (August 12, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class (AW) Christian Odell, from Elmore City, Oklahoma, stows an aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) hose on the port side catwalk of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). AFFF is primarily used to combat class bravo fires, which are fires fueled by flammable liquids. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
