JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 2, 2016) – Lt. David Kosek, a dentist at Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville, replaces a filling on Army National Guard Private First Class Tanner Laughlin. Six years after the Dental Corps was founded in 1912, the United States entered World War I. During that conflict, the Dental Corps expanded from 35 to more than 500 personnel, including 124 dentists commissioned in the regular Navy.
