Drill instructors pay their final respects to Sgt. Michael A. Tooley at a memorial service at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug. 24. Tooley was a drill instructor with Fox Company for six cycles and was later assigned to the Academic Instructor Platoon, Instructional Training Company, Support Battalion, and served as a platform instructor. He deployed to the Philippines, Iraq and Afghanistan as a combat engineer. Tooley’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
