WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Aug. 29, 2016) Crash and Salvage team members tighten straps to secure the landing gear in the raised position with the aircraft nose down on a training jet during a phase-two evolution drill simulating an aircraft landing gear failure aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). This put the training jet in a position similar to how a jet might look after a crash landing. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
