Colombian army professional soldier Jimmy Sangregorio from the Demining Battalion #6 in Bogota starts the mine clearing process from the benchmark to a simulated minefield. This is the entry point to a minefield, which is cleared 10 inches at the time, May 19, 2010. The rest of the team, composed by one commander, one medic, one driver and another deminer, waits 25 meters away from the area for safety reasons. This humanitarian demining training is a train the trainer course conducted by ARSOUTH in Bogota, Colombia, as part of the professional development exchange program and sponsored by USSOUTHCOM, which provided equipment to the Colombian army to facilitate their mission.
