ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (Sept. 3, 2016) -- Capt. Edwin Eiswerth, the commanding officer of the 214th Military Police Company, Alabama Army National Guard, addresses members of his unit as they commemorate their return from deployment in a ceremony at the Charles E. Bailey Sports Complex, here, Sept. 3, 2016.
Approximately 135 Soldiers of the 214th M.P. Co. deployed, in Oct. 2015, for their assignment with Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where they contributed to the external security force mission of conducting safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees being held, there.
Guests in attendance to welcome the unit home included select leaders of the Alabama Army National Guard, several groups of military veterans, city council members, media reporters and the families and friends of the Soldiers of the 214th M.P. Co.
