ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (Sept. 3, 2016) -- Specialist Tyler Johnson (second from right), from Ozark, Ala., a Military Police Soldier assigned to the 214th Military Police Company, Alabama Army National Guard, join his family as they depart the Charles E. Bailey Sports Complex, here, following a ceremony marking the return of the 214th M.P. Co. from their deployment, Sept. 3, 2016.
Approximately 135 Soldiers of the 214th M.P. Co. deployed, in Oct. 2015, for their assignment with Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where they contributed to the external security force mission of conducting safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees being held, there.
Guests in attendance to welcome the unit home include select leaders of the Alabama Army National Guard, several groups of military veterans, city council members, media reporters, and the families and friends of the Soldiers of the 214th M.P. Co.
