PACIFIC OCEAN (September 10, 2016) – Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) 3rd Class Abdullah Murmohamed, from New Orleans, and Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class John Laeng, from Olney, Md., assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 21, clean main rotor head scissors in the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) hangar bay. Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is conducting integrated training with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit off the coast of Southern California, in preparation for a scheduled deployment.
