Petty Officer 2nd Class Chris Ellis, air-traffic controller, operates an SPN-46 Precision Approach Landing System aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Air-traffic controllers use PALS to help guide approaching aircraft for their final descent.
