160913-N-OY799-161 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 13, 2016) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Philip Figuerres, from Chino, California, places an exhaust cover on an AIM-120/AMRAAM missile in the bomb farm on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during Exercise Valiant Shield 2016. Valiant Shield is a biennial, U.S.-only field-training exercise with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
