160913-N-OY799-186 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 13, 2016) An MH-60R Sea Hawk assigned to the “Saberhawks” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 77 makes it’s final approach to the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during Exercise Valiant Shield (VS) 2016. Valiant Shield is a biennial, U.S.-only field-training exercise with a focus on integration of joint training among U.S. forces. This training enables real-world proficiency in sustaining joint forces through detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, on land and in cyberspace in response to a range of mission areas.
