U.S. Marines with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 469, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, operate and maintain a UH-1Y Huey utility helicopter at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Sept. 28, 2016. The mission of HMLA-469 is to provide utility helicopter support, close-in fire support, fire support coordination, aerial reconnaissance, observation and forward air control in aerial and ground escort operations during ship-to-shore movement and subsequent operations ashore, during expeditionary, joint or combined operations.
