A drill instructor from Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, instructs a recruit to move faster during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 23. The recruits are now on the “drill instructors’ time”, and if they don’t complete a task quickly enough they will endure other tasks to reinforce timeliness. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate Dec. 16.
