    CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 30, 2016) A GOES-13 satellite image from the Navy Research Laboratory Monterey Marine Meteorology division of Hurricane Matthew in the Caribbean Sea at 1935 hrs ET. The storm has well-defined eye and was located near latitude 13.5 North, longitude 72.0 West. Data from an Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 150 mph (240 km/h) with higher gusts. Hurricane Matthew was a category 4 hurricane that formed in the Western Atlantic Ocean and affected the Haiti, eastern Cuba, and the Bahamas before moving up the east coast of the United States.
