A Djibouti Armed Forces service member places a call to confirm connectivity of a Voice over Internet Protocol phone during validation training at FAD Headquarters in Djibouti, Sept. 28, 2016. While conducting the best practices training, the U.S. Army technicians assigned to Combined Joint Task-Horn of Africa also held an Africa Data Sharing Network validation with the FAD soldiers, to prepare them to deploy to Somalia. The ADSN provides network and Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities between the several African countries participating in the Africa Union Mission in Somalia. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is a multinational effort to conduct theater security cooperation, combat violent extremism and enable freedom of movement within East Africa in order to defend U.S. interests and support aligned regional efforts.(U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
