U.S. Marines with 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (3d LAR Bn), fire a M242 Bushmaster and a M240B machine gun from a light armored vehicle (LAV) during the first-ever Bushmaster challenge at range SR-7 aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 4, 2016. The competition consisted of four light-armored vehicles, or LAV-25’s, shooting targets with an M242 Bushmaster, which is a 25 mm chain-driven autocannon used extensively by the U.S. military and the M240 coaxial machine gun.
