The training area at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., allows for controlled burns during the day and night. The base is only one of four left that allows the burning of diesel fuel to train firefighters how to fight aircraft fires. The 661st and 662nd Firefighting Teams from Sparta were part of the training during Golden Coyote.
