Eric Rodriguez, the aviation operations officer for SPMAGTF-SC, with the Joint Service Commendation Medal for planning and organizing the movement of the detachment of Marines, soldiers and cargo from Honduras to Haiti in support of Joint Task Force Matthew in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Oct. 17, 2016. JTF Matthew was a U.S. Southern Command lead humanitarian assistance, disaster relief effort in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew. Matthew was a category 4 hurricane that formed in the Western Atlantic Ocean and affected Haiti, eastern Cuba, and the Bahamas before moving up the southeast coast of the United States.
